Heading Home

Discharge planning is a vital component of your stay at Wollongong Private Hospital.

The anticipated length of stay following the birth of your baby is:

  • Vaginal birth without complications – most mothers and babies are discharged after the fourth night.
  • Caesarean Section birth without complications – most mothers and babies are discharged after the sixth night.

Discharge time is 10am, please ensure that you check your room and take all your belongings with you.

For your baby's safety please have your car fitted correctly with a seat/capsule prior to going home. This is a requirement by law.
