Dr Tawfik believes that surgery is a last resort, so as his patient you can be sure he will do his best to explore all possible non-surgical management options prior to recommending surgery.
He understands that that undergoing surgery, whether elective or emergency can be a stressful time. Dr Tawfik takes the time to explain things to you, keeps you calm and uses his high level clinical and surgical skills to care for you.
Dr John Tawfik is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with advanced training in Hand and Wrist Surgery. Dr Tawfik completed his Orthopaedic training in 2009 followed by 2 years of fellowship training in Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery in London and Switzerland. He is a VMO at Sydney Hospital’s Hand unit and his private practice is located in Sydney and Wollongong. Dr Tawfik recognises that undergoing surgery, whether elective or emergency, can be a particularly stressful time. As such, Dr Tawfik recognises the importance of being relatable and personable whilst providing high level clinical and surgical care to his patients.
